Dealing with Demanding Dan

Dan* lived most of the time in Michigan
but spent his winters in Florida, not unlike many of my patients.

My wife and
her old friend Nick always joked about spending a month in Italy
some day when they had enough money. After he sold some commercial
property just before the real estate market collapsed and she
received an unexpected pre-inheritance, they looked at each other
and said, “If not now, then when?” When we were in
Italy three years ago, my wife and I visited Rome, Assisi and
parts of Umbria. This time around the two of us and Nick dreamed

The Perfect
B&B: Bewitched or Beguiling?

Full disclosure: I love B&B’s.
Whether traveling for business or pleasure, I always try to stay
at a B&B over a hotel. I find that one Hyatt or Best Western
is pretty much the same as another, no matter what city you are
in. You know the drill before you even check in. The windows will
not open, even with a crowbar, the room key is a flimsy thin plastic
card, and the television is an old tube model with a picture as
clear as lobster bisque. I like different, and I like local flavors.
